Choir makes big splash in Bath The Croydon choir has returned from a triumphant two-day tour of Bath. The choir appeared in three venues, including Bath Abbey, where an estimated 400-strong audience heard it sing a six-piece set culminating in the Hallelujah Chorus. Verger Michael Robinson praised the choir for a performance which matched the abbey’s inspirational setting while musical director Richard Hoyle hailed it as among the finest he had conducted. The choir at Bath Abbey - inspirational performance The choir sang at Prior Park College on June 3 and at St John the Baptist, Batheaston, on June 4 – having sung at Bath Abbey earlier in the day. Choir accompanist Lana Bode gave scintillating solo performances at both evening performances, featuring works by Haydn, Schubert, Debussy, Chopin and Joplin.
