Richard live!
Richard Hoyle, the Croydon choir’s musical director, is to appear on local radio talking about the choir "and all things choral". Richard will be talking live on Brooklands Radio, which broadcasts to North Surrey, on Sunday February 19 at 3pm. Richard, answering questions from interviewer Cliff van Tonder in a two-hour programme, will cover the choir's past, present and future. He will publicise our forthcoming concerts, with a special mention for the Fairfield Hall massed choir concert on June 2, and will also select seven favourite recordings showing "different facets" of the choir - plus one recording by another choir.
Richard Hoyle, photographed at his 100th concert in May 2010 Richard says he is looking forward to the opportunity to promoting the choir to a wider audience. Brooklands Radio is an internet station with listeners across North Surrey, from Esher to Woking. Richard will also tell listeners how to become a choir member or patron, as well as dealing with questions on topics such as the rising popularity of choirs and the influence of Gareth Malone. His interviewer, Cliff van Tonder, is musical director of Elmbridge Choir. The station launched a regular Sunday afternoon programme featuring choral singing and big band music in January this year.
